Literacy Skills
Literacy is no longer just information found in books. In the internet age students must learn to discern facts, the authenticity of their sources, the technology behind the facts.
Students are taught how to use the information they find to ensure it is accurate and to learn how to give credit for information where it is due. At its simplest level, just understanding social media data.
- TECHNOLOGY COMPETENCY : Students must have an understanding the machines that make the information age possible.
- INFORMATION :understanding facts, figures, stats and data.
- MEDIA :understanding the methods and outlets in which information is published. These include and are not limited to websites, podcasts, social media platforms, apps, e-publishing to name a few.
